The short version
FileSeekr does not collect, transmit, or share any of your data. Everything the app does — searching, indexing, tagging, duplicate detection — happens entirely on your Mac. We never see your files, your search queries, or anything else.

Information We Collect
FileSeekr does not collect any personal information. The app does not require an account, does not connect to any external servers, and does not transmit any data off your device.
All data created by the app — including your search index, file metadata, tags, and preferences — is stored locally on your Mac in the app's sandboxed container and never leaves your device.

How FileSeekr Works
File Indexing & Search: FileSeekr indexes file names, paths, and metadata stored on your connected drives. This index is stored in a local database on your Mac and is never uploaded anywhere.
Tags & Organization: Tags you apply to files are stored locally in the same sandboxed database. They are never synced to external servers.
In-App Purchases: FileSeekr uses Apple's StoreKit framework to process purchases. All payment information is handled entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment details.
Preferences & Settings: App preferences and your trial start date are stored locally using macOS UserDefaults and the system Keychain. This data never leaves your device.

Third-Party Services
FileSeekr does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash reporting services. No third-party SDKs are included in the app that collect or transmit user data.
The only external service involved is the Apple App Store, which handles app distribution and purchases under Apple's own privacy policy.

Data Retention & Deletion
To delete all data associated with FileSeekr, simply uninstall the app. You can also remove the app's local container by going to:
~/Library/Containers in Finder and deleting the FileSeekr folder

Children's Privacy
FileSeekr does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since no data is collected at all, the app complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by design.

Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of FileSeekr after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
